In acknowledging the role our young people play in the larger community, Dare Community Crime Line takes an active role in Dare County Public Schools. A one-time endowment sponsors programs such as a school-tip line though the School Resource officers. DCCL is supportive of the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapters in each high school, and works collaboratively with First Flight High School's Nighthawk News and Manteo High School's Sound to Sea in seeking information about unsolved crimes. For younger children, McGruff is available for school fairs and other speaking engagements.
